Cahoots Festival of Fun is a free, family friendly community event held at our beautiful Cahoots Adventure Camp in Bullsbrook. This festival is designed to bring people of all abilities together for a day of fun, connection, and celebration.

Cahoots Festival of Fun offers a safe, inclusive, and accessible environment where everyone, regardless of ability, can participate and enjoy. With activities like climbing walls, high and low ropes courses, arts and crafts, live music, planting, and more, the event is a wonderful celebration of community, diversity, and inclusion.

General Event Information

Do I need to register or buy tickets in advance?

Yes, registration is essential and tickets will be checked on arrival. Tickets for Cahoots Festival of Fun are FREE! Please click here to register.

What is the purpose of timed entry?

Timed entry helps manage crowd numbers, minimise queues, and ensure all visitors can enjoy activities comfortably.

What if I'm late for my session time?

Late arrivals are welcome and will be admitted upon arrival, but final entry is 1:30pm.

Is there an age limit or restrictions on activities?

Most activities are inclusive for all ages. Some may have age or height guidelines for safety — these will be clearly signposted.

Is food available on site?

Yes, a range of food and drinks will be available to purchase, including allergy-friendly and budget-friendly options. You are also welcome to bring a picnic to take in the beautiful surroundings of Cahoots Adventure Camp.

Is there parking available?

Yes, accessible parking is near the entrance, with general parking also available. Parking attendants will be present on the day.

What should I leave at home?

For the comfort and safety of all attendees, the following items are not permitted at Cahoots Festival of Fun:

Pets (assistance/support animals are always welcome on a lead)

Alcohol or illegal substances

Glass containers

Weapons or sharp objects

What accessibility considerations have been made for the event?

Accessibility is central to our planning. The venue features accessible parking and toilets, quiet and sensory spaces, and all staff receive disability awareness training.

Are all outdoor areas accessible?

Yes, all main festival areas are accessible. For questions related to the accessibility of specific activities, please contact s_harris@cahoots.org.au.

What considerations have you made for people with sensory sensitivities?

We offer sensory-friendly zones, quiet spaces, low-stimulus activities, and clearly signposted loud areas. In 2026, Sensory Kits containing a variety of resources, including ear defenders and fidgets, will also be available.

Will there be a Sensory Map or Social Story?

Yes, both will be available online before the event and at the entry gate.

Can we bring support items like prams, wheelchairs, weighted blankets, or fidgets?

Absolutely, all support items are welcome.

Common questions from families attending with Autistic children

What happens if my child has a meltdown or needs extra support?

Quiet spaces and trained staff are available. Seek out a Cahoots staff member in a purple Cahoots branded shirt for assistance.

Can support workers or additional carers attend?

Yes — family, friends, carers, and support workers are all welcome. Cahoots does not provide duty of care at the event.

Do activities require standing in lines?

We minimise waiting times through timed entry and many activity options. Shaded waiting areas are provided, and roving performers help keep everyone entertained.

Are there any loud noises or crowds to be aware of?

There will be a stage with musical performances. These areas are clearly marked on the festival map.

Mikayla

Cahoots has helped Mikayla in so many ways I couldn’t even begin to describe it. One of the biggest ones is being socially appropriate in environment outside the home. That has been the biggest help for me. As now I can take her out, and she knows how to behave not only appropriately but safely. Also interacting with other children naturally she is not a sociable person and this is helped her to socialise with children her own age. It’s also helped her with her balance and gross motor skills with arts and craft and the activities that you do. For example bowling and parks.

Bronwyn

Thank you for taking Bronwyn to Melbourne, she hasn't stopped talking about it! She has crossed another place off her map of future travels (believe me, it's a big list!!), and told many stories about the fun she had. For me, this has been the highlight and warms my soul every time I think about it.

She gave her little sister a pep talk where she told her, “you just have to face your fear and do things sometimes, as I did in Melbourne, I went out on the sky deck and did the chair ride with Shelley, I was scared but you have to face your fears, you can't let it hold you back.”

Bronwyn loves attending camp with Cahoots, she has the best time. Thank you for all the fun and adventures you send her on. She loves living life and wants to experience everything, we appreciate you helping that happen for her.

I just want to say thank you to you and the whole Cahoots team for giving me the opportunity to volunteer on the camps. I really enjoyed the young adults camp and had an amazing time. I am still new in the industry. This gave me a great learning experience, and I will carry my knowledge on.
